Fannie Lou Hamer

Fannie Lou Hamer was born in 1917. She was a meadow secretary of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, was a free-spoken supporter for civil rights for African Americans.

Early Life

For more than one-half of Fannie Lou Hamer's days, she was a rustic agricultural worker who assured no end to the sequence of scarcity and disgrace that was the dilemma of majority southern African Americans.
