Faith in the New Testament

Introduction

Faith is defined as the absolute and unwavering belief in God and in Jesus Christ. Faith also implies obedience to God and complete trust in God. Faith means that the person must be able to live his belief in God and Jesus Christ such that his unconscious and conscious mind must reflect his belief in God and Jesus Christ. No matter what action he undertakes, the faithful person is expected to concur with the will of God and Jesus Christ (Christ in You, n.d.).

In the first sense, faith means that the Christian person has utter trust in God and Jesus Christ that whatever is happening in the world, and whatever comes his way, is the work of God and Jesus Christ and that he is completely free of any worries about the world as long as he has absolute trust in the God and Jesus Christ (Christ in You, n.d.).

In the later sense, faith means obedience to God and the Jesus Christ (Christ in You, n.d.). This means that the person is abiding and does not engage in any form of evil or ill. He is a good person, and he or she will never go near any evil or do any misdeed. This reflects his or her complete obedience to God and also shows that a faithful person will never commit adultery. Adultery and fornication have been strongly condemned in the Bible and in the New Testament as cardinal sins.
