Motivation is divided into two types i.e. the intrinsic motivation and the extrinsic motivation. This paper is a reflection of the advantages and the disadvantages derived from the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
Intrinsic Motivations
Based on intrinsic motivation there is no outside pressure and it is driven by an interest and satisfaction. Furthermore, it stays as an essential factor to indicate how the natural human propensity can be learned and assimilated and a person who is intrinsically motivated is acting for the fun not because of rewards. Sansone (2000) noted that experimental studies of animal behaviors acknowledged the existence of intrinsic motivation and found that many systems are involved in playfulness, engaging in an activity and desire which drives without any reinforcement. In addition, as pointed out with Brimhall (2007), one of the important phenomenon is that either can be organized quickly or become less effective with practice from teachers and parents is intrinsic motivation (Brimhall, 2007). There are various benefits of the intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation is very helpful for the employees of the organization in order to get internally motivated. Intrinsic motivation is comprised of those factors which help in gaining the motivation from internal factors (Sansone, 2000). For example, the internal satisfaction and recognition are the factors of the intrinsic motivation. A person feeling intrinsically motivated feels easy to maintain his concentration. The main benefit of the intrinsic motivation is that the intrinsic motivate people do not depend on the factors of extrinsic motivation i.e. they do not need the recognition and bonuses to get motivated and work in a motivated and successful manner.
