This is a randomised control trail study and compares lapatinib plus capecitabine and the capecitabine alone in breast cancer patients on the basis of quantitative data and analysis. Randomization control trial is an allocation method of random groups of patients and treatment, which provides the greatest similarity as possible between groups for all the known and unknown factors related to patients and may influence the result a study. Most studies conduct a completely randomized design in which each patient has equal opportunity to receive treatment. The strength of this research design is that the evaluation of the patients is performed by independent reviewers and under blind conditions. The limitation in the study is open table design, in which both the researcher and the participanting women patients in this research study know the treatment they will receive in the study. This knowledge can bias the result as both the members know about the treatment.

The total of 324 breast cancer patient were recruited for randomization in two groups with a distribution 1:1, out of which 163 received combination therapy and the remaining 161 received mono therapy every 3 week. 16 patients have not received therapy assigned then of the randomization by poor interpretation of the code by the institution and 8 patients never received treatment after randomization. The authors calculated that more of 266 events were necessary for a 90% power and detect an increase in time median increase of 50% or more. Breast cancer is a common form of cancer in women, comprising about 20% of all malignant tumors. The likelihood of cancer increases with age is directly proportional to approximately 4% of patients were women younger than 30 years. The highest death rate from breast cancer is usually at the ...
