Introduction

Information and Communication Technologies have been showing an unprecedented potential for improving the response to the demands of citizens. It has been recognized as a major strategic tool to make the reforms enable in the public sector. With the availability of a built-in API, it is not required for the organization to develop their own (Deloitte, 2012).

The main goal of open data is to utilize and deploy diverse public sector information resources, incorporating an advanced service infrastructure, as well as capable of governance-related research from multi-disciplinary scientific communities and semantic annotation, data curation while also increasing the usage of open government data to citizens. It has been observed that there are several cities that are taking initiatives in order to enhance their public services. Cities are now aware with the significance of data collected as it can be used in the replacement of failing infrastructure, assist to shorten transit times and even in simplifying the parking. This is a continuous developing technology of data analytics that has shown rapid enhancement in services. These technologies not only help in improving the quality of services but they also play significant role in reducing the cost of the services. Cities all around the world are getting facilitated with the cost-saving services of data analytics (Volk,2011).
