Festa Italiana was the attractive Italian-culture event which I attended. This festival, which commemorated Italy, took location on Sunday, October 21, 2007. It was all commemorated in downtown Riverside at White Park from noon to eight p.m. (at 3901 Market Street). Tickets at the door were ten dollars, for scholars and seniors with ID it was decreased to five dollars and for children age twelve and under entry was free. This was the Fourth Annual Festa Italiana that had taken place in Riverside. The road carnival that commemorated old-world Italy was the site of large amusement, nourishment, melodies, a classic Italian car show, bocce and children's activities.

The fourth annual Festa Italiana on October 21st was another great happening hosted by the city of Riverside. With nourishment by the vendors, alert entertainment, and abounding of undertakings to select from, the Festa Italiana was adept to provide its visitors with peak notch quality. The nourishment was exceptionally good thanks to the nourishment vendors. With alternatives from: the traditional pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, pasta, tiramisu, sausage and peppers, cannolis, to seafood cocktails and gelatos. There was also great entertainment by live singers (singing in Italian). Polka dancing, Italian melodies, and even some ensemble and instrumental could be seen and perceived all over White Park; there appeared to be a little of everything for all the visitors that attended.

Along with nourishment and amusement at the Festa Italiana, the activities that represented the Italian heritage were many and quite entertaining themselves. There was a pizza toss challenge, which in Italian is called La Pizza Getta (la Comptizione); I really tried it myself and I learned that trying to toss pizza dough in the air, over my head was a lot harder than I anticipated. -Well actually it was not so much the tossing that was tough, it was the part where I had to try to apprehend the dough without tearing it that was a allotment more difficult. There was also face painting and art studio stations filled with gigiling children, which in Italian was refered to as Pitura Della Facia and Studiod'Arte. There was also a section for Herbal Gardens which contained flowers in flower pots and children decorating them; among the flowers there were small red roses and white lilies and violets which sat in vases for decoration. I learned at the flower station that the love for values, beliefs and customs of the Italians is easily seen in the symbolic flowers of Italy. The flower emblems of the country have been alienated in to three categories: the traditional symbolic flower for Italy is the Rose while, White Poppy or White Lily serves as religious symbolic flower and according to popularity Violet is considered a flower symbol in the country.
