Introduction

In this paper we look at the issues that create hindrance in the leadership management of health care managers while they perform their management practices and objectives in the field of health care. First of all I shall give you an overview of the various issues that arise in a health care institution then I shall be looking at the ways in which the health care managers use their leadership qualities to overcome them and how it affects the performance and productivity. As a conclusion I would like to summarize the whole issue and come up with ideas and leadership strategies and traits that a healthcare manager should incorporate within the organization to make it more productive and provide quality service to its community/patients. I would also discuss what I have learned from all this discussion and how I would want to contribute.

This research shows the importance of understanding the managerial hurdles met by health care leaders while practicing their leadership skills to achieve effective delivery of performance and professional satisfaction by their people. In this report our research shows the managerial obstacles that make it difficult for the health care managers to achieve their leadership objectives. It is a fact that young and fresh graduates in this field are capable of being more productive but they do not have the relevant experience to master different disciplines of health care (Weingart & Page 2004). Whereas those who have been in this field for more than 20 years, are found to be less productive but no one can deny their valuable experience.

Hence there should be rotations to improve employee growth as a result of which fresh leaders are produced with desired experience and capabilities (Weingart & Page 2004). The field of healthcare is going through major and rapid transformation, with intense change still on the way. In such a progressing environment, healthcare institutes must retain extraordinary levels of professional and technical expertise . At the same time, they should come up with such leadership capabilities which help them to be successful in future. The obstacles faced by healthcare organizations are very complex and cannot be characterized easily, therefore using leadership qualities the managers should devise common.

Issues faced by Healthcare Leaders

Leadership in healthcare institutes is derived with the help of all stakeholders working together as a team. The leader/ manager must act as a role model so others can follow him. There is a wide area of concern by addressing which we can cope up with the leadership issues faced by health care managers. Healthcare leaders worldwide face similar issues as the industry is the same except the social, economic and cultural values may differ from nation to nation. It is a critical job to maintain leadership traits and effectively provide quality service to the community staying in line with laws and procedures which may at times be a great hurdle.
