Essay Question #1. Nearly, all Fellows are hired to teach in "high-need" schools that are located in Low-income communities. Why do you want to teach specifically in a high-need school in New York City? Why do you believe you will be an effective teacher in a high need school? I truly want to teach in “high-need” schools because I am looking forward to make a difference which will be rewarding for me only in “high-need” schools. Moreover, I want to have a thoughtful impact on the lives of people, so I am sure it is my satisfying choice of teaching in “high-need” schools. Here, children come from different areas with diverse backgrounds, so they face a variety of problems such as economic problems, family, or social problems that can cause detraction from their focus on education. And I always welcome the challenges. I am very much compassionate for these children. Nowadays, the teaching in “high-need” schools is much demanding and menacing. Furthermore, teaching in “high-need” schools entails determination, enthusiasm, and devotion, and I meet all these requirements which will be beneficial for both me and “high-need” schools. I am prepared to face the difficulties such as a limited number of resources, and I will try my level best to overcome them. Apart from this, “high-need” schools offer various incentives; not only non-monitory awards and recognition, but also monitory benefits to teachers which includes fellowships, loan forgiveness, financial aid, housing, etc. Hence, “high-need” schools always value their high performing teachers and never overlook them in recognizing and wasting the teacher's efforts. Apart from management, students also praise them. This seems to be an eye-catching reason for me to teach in “high-need” school. I will be an effective, inspiring, and dedicated teacher in a “high-need” school because I have a solid educational and professional background. I am a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and have worked in different fields which will be helpful for me in teaching “high-need” schools. I am currently working with Juveniles as a Juvenile Junior Corrections Officer. I am also working as a substitute teacher for Cincinnati public schools, and have since 2003. Moreover, I took over as a youth minister in my local church at the age of twelve. Moreover, I have much extensive expertise. I am very flexible and have an immense patience with those students who are trying and willing to do and learn something. I am very intellectually curious about facing the changes. I am very confident in my abilities to intellect how to make things understandable for students. I always plan before taking a class in order to know that how much time students need to grasp a particular topic. That is very helpful for me to complete the topics according to the syllabus.
