This paper is based on the analysis of four different articles through the use of Epidemiological methodology, which include, Cross Sectional Study, Case-Control Study, Prospective Cohort Study and Experimental Study.
Discussion
Cross Sectional Study
The goal of the study
The study is carried out for the purpose of investigating the awareness and utilization of nutraceuticals in consumers in the city of Thessaloniki, Greece.
The independent (Factor) and dependent variables
In this study, health of the consumer is dependent variable, as it is dependent on the utilization by the consumer, which is the independent variable in this regard. Moreover, utilization of the nutraceuticals is the dependent variable, as it is dependent on the knowingness of the consumers, which is the independent variable in this regard.
Description of the specific methodology in the study
Stata version 10 was used for the analysis of the data. ?2-test was used to test the significance of the categorical variables. t-test was also carried out to test the differences among continuous variables between groups. A p-value of <0.005 was deemed to be significant.
The conclusions made
The data analysis revealed that around 33% consumers had knowledge of the term “nutraceuticals”. The amount from the sample population, which had knowledge related to foods having health promoting factors was more than 95% (Christidis, Tsoulfa, Varagunam, Babatzimopoulou, 2011).
Case-Control Study
The goal of the study
This paper aims to study the effects of psychological contract on control mechanisms in outsourced ISD projects, which is on the basis of the theories of control and contract theories of psychology.
The independent (Factor) and dependent variables
The scenarios are dependent on the independent variable, which is the psychological contract.
Description of the specific methodology in the study
The paper is a multiple case study involving five outsourced projects completed by one of the largest and most successful telecommunication vendors in China.
