Day by day, as the oil proceeds towards estuaries and wetlands, everybody is sensing the potential negative effects on the species living below and above the surface. Oil has reached on to marshes and beaches of coasts of four states. There is being a large application of dispersants such is never been witnessed before.
Many toxic gases along with methane gushed out of container, and the company inflicted the surface of the ocean, mixing dispersants and oil to create a mixture of poisoned and toxic chemicals. Hundreds of species including dolphins, turtles, fish, birds and animals have been traced in crippled condition. According to reliable reports, environmentalists have found clouds of toxic oil which posses a subtle threat to sea life and deep sea coral. The effects of oil spill will be not completely clear before the actual consequences are witnessed in future (Congressional Hearing Transcript Database, 2010).
As the toxic clouds caused by toxic oil proceeds through the oceans, the oxygen which is required to seal life and marine plants will be consumed by oil eating bacteria. Additionally, animals and marine plants are facing the threat of death due to asphyxiation. Large amount of the food system is at the risk of annihilation in the Gulf region.
The effect of this disaster does not end on the shores or in the water. The burning operations and crude oil have created polluted air which is thick and mixture of toxic chemicals that are causing health problems such as respiratory irritation, nausea, dizziness and headaches.
These toxic chemicals are said to cause development of deadly diseases including chronic diseases. Additionally, people are concerned regarding the consumption of seafood sold in the Gulf, which has contaminated through chemicals and petroleum matter. All this has put the health of Louisianan people in grief danger.
