Entrepreneurship Approaches

Introduction

Entrepreneurship is the act of being an entrepreneur. Entrepreneur refers to any person who identifies an opportunity and organizes the resources needed to implement it. This can result in the creation of new organizations, companies or may be part of revitalizing mature organizations in response to potential opportunities. The best known form of entrepreneurship is that by creating additional business, but lately, the term has been extended to include activities that include social and political aspects.

Entrepreneurial activities are quite different, depending on the type of organization that is created. Entrepreneurship ranges from individual projects to multiple major initiatives that create employment opportunities. The aim of this paper is to analyze two leading entrepreneurs to determine their entrepreneurial approaches in categories of profit oriented business and social responsibility oriented business. The two entrepreneurs that are chosen for this paper are Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg.

Entrepreneur's Approach in Profit Oriented Business

Profit oriented entrepreneurial approach is a practice or mode of business in which the primary goal is to provide a product or service to consumers and to make a profit.

Analysis and Description of Founding Leader

The leader that is chosen for this category of entrepreneurship is Steve Jobs. The history of the business activities of Steve Jobs made ??a big contribution to the symbolic image of the kind of individualistic entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, highlighting the importance of design and understanding of the key role of aesthetics in the public consciousness. His efforts to promote the development of products that are both functional and elegant has earned him many followers. After the completion of the first personal computer, named Apple I, Jobs was dedicated to its promotion and other computer enthusiasts, shops and digital electronics markets, selling about 200 copies. Since then, Apple's growth was remarkable. In just 10 years, Apple became a company with 4,000 employees and Jobs, 27 years, was the youngest millionaire in 1982.

Like many entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, Jobs worshiped innovation. He was the one to make us get rid of outdated technologies, floppy disks replaced by USB. Jobs was of the opinion that innovation has nothing to do with the amount of dollars you spend on R & D, it's not about money. It depends on people, leadership and what you've got it. “Hero, shitheaded, Roller Coaster” is the term coined by the staff of Steve Jobs, to describe his management style. He was a true dictator. Impossible deadlines, dictated performance, absolute control of information are the words that can be used to describe the management of Jobs. The old Apple can recount scenes of insults, humiliation and dismissal, According to Jobs “You cannot change the world by being nice”. Aggressive and demanding personality of Steve Jobs has been extensively discussed. The Fortune magazine wrote that "He is considered as the greatest egotist of Silicon Valley” (Anthony, 2009).
