Nike's Pegasus gained popularity and was widely accepted in the market. It was really appreciated by the athletes. But with the passage of time, during late 90s its popularity started decreasing and ultimately there was observed a rapid decrease in its sale. It came back for its 29th version in 2009 with innovation. The Pegasus, which is well-known as Nike's franchise neutral trainer is found it to be a reliable everyday shoe. It is capable of delivering protection and comfort side by side at any distance. It is light and flexible to be used in sports. These innovative designs of the shoes were made of some new materials by making a prominent reduction in the weight of the shoes. The materials that were used in the manufacturing of these shoes were suitable to the environment. They are implementing smarter and amazing patterns in order to reduce the waste of the materials(Nike Inc., 2012).

These kinds of sustainable achievements have been implemented in the sportswear brands since ages but the innovation that is made by Nike is the green improvements. Nike is considered as a model of commercial autocracy, it has achieved in the open-source groove, by opening itself up to virtual collaboration almost with everyone. In 2009, the company was observed to turn its coolest consumers into designers, its sneakers into personal fitness consultants, and its intellectual property into R&D free of cost in order to solve the concerns globally. There are few manufacturers and social entrepreneurs who have the access to the green technologies. It is because of it newly designed Web site comprised of the companies such as Yahoo and Best Buy. By designing and implementing such innovative strategy, Nike is able to provide confidence in women. Nike has designed innovative styles for providing a sustainable environment by utilizing fewer resources, consuming renewable energy and more sustainable products in order to manufacture innovative products (Nike Inc., 2012).
