David Harvey

David Harvey is perhaps the most influential contemporary human geographer in the world. Over several decades, he played a role in the quantitative revolution, but in the early 1970s, he was the seminal figure in the introduction of Marxism into the discipline. In a long series of highly influential books, he has steadfastly advocated on behalf of social justice and offered to bite critiques of capitalism, neoliberalism, inequality, and oppression in all its forms (Harvey, 2011).

David has written the book “The Enigma of Capital”. In this book, he argued about Capitalism. It differs from other modes of production in that it must grow to survive. Under the relentless pressure, of competition, firms must continually innovate; from this basic fact spring both the tremendous vitality of capitalism as well as its greatest weakness (Christianparenti.sbc.edu, 2010).The necessity to extract surplus value inexorably leads to conditions, in which more produces than can be consumed; that is, there is over accumulation, which is built into the DNA of commodity production. Ultimately, this process leads to an excess supply, falling prices, and thus a tendency for the profit rate to decline (Davidharvey, 2008).

He has taught in different universities. He is a visiting faculty of City University of New York. He has take part in the struggle of politics and many anti wars movements. Parenti has done the analysis of vulnerable states of the world, economical and political disaster of the world in his book. This book author has given the ides tat how to tackle with new crises of climate change. He forecast the danger which is the reaction of United States and other most developed countries. This disaster occurs to the usage of armed lifeboats and borders which is fully armed and aggressive policies which is against for immigration (pcp.gc.cuny.sbc.edu, 2008).
