English Poetry and Literature

Introduction

The literary work produced with in the United States and its surrounding colonies known as American Literature. Currently, the American Literature is different from what is used to be in the past. From the beginning of the 21st century, an increase in the acceptability of all types of Literature was witnesses. The famous authors of the contemporary American Literature are all inspired by the authors of the past. For instance, the authors involved in writing speculative fiction, usually cites Lewis of having a major influence on them. The century has also witnessed the rise in the number of fiction and non-fiction books. A lot of these books made into movies, making them blockbusters from the theatrical point of view as well, in this regard the Twilight Saga and the Series of Harry Potter are worth-mentioning (Gura, 2007).

In linguistics, poetry is described as a statement focused on the shape of the message so that the poetic function is dominant.

Overview

In the last 30 years, the American Poetry has witnessed a number of changing trends. The language schools in the United States now have a higher proportion of women representing the trend of rediscovering and promoting the poetry written by women poets in the past. The poets can be termed as American because of their involvement in writing contemporary English, which is positively promoted across the country, and the globe simultaneously. These poets try to inculcate the current American trends of writing (topical, proactive and easily understandable) in their poetry so that the American poetry can be propagated without altering its traditional charm.

Poetry can move people into conversations beyond the case at hand. As the poetry, in an evaluation report influences the meanings and values held by the different stakeholders regarding an evaluand, higher moral, social, and political issues for reflection can surface. In and of itself, the presence of poetry in an evaluation report can promote discussions among readers about processes and products of evaluative inquiry. Poetry as a form of evaluative representation has the potential to create dialogue about what is and what is not an evaluation and why this is perceived as so. It can serve as a useful springboard for discourse about higher ontological, epistemological, and methodological assumptions associated with evaluation. The importance is oriented towards the “form”, symbolized by the "worms" that shows an increase in the recovery with the principle of diffidence, that can be represented by a spiral. The poetic expression, however, offers the course of history varied according to the guidelines adopted by the prominent poet.

Poetry serves a special way to organize the speech, bringing it more in the measure (measurement), no needs of everyday language, verbal arts, mainly in verse. Additional measure of speech is the verse (verse line), as well as rhyme, meter and so on.
