Introduction

A personal computer tends to be abbreviated as PC; it is defined as a microcomputer designed primarily for use by one person at a time. A personal computer is generally medium- sized and is used by one user. However, as the time has progressed there has been an evolution when it comes to the development of the multi-user interface. Today, some operating systems tend to inculcate the tool of supporting multiple users at a time. However, a computer is usually equipped to meet the common tasks of modern computing, which tends to include web surfing, writing texts and perform other clerical work related issues (editing texts and databases).

Plus, it also the user to indulge into leisure activities, such as listening to music, watching videos and other similar features (Sherman, 2003).Personal computer is one of the significant developments in the history. They are still going through innovation and advancement. However, in the context of the modern terms, Personal Computers have transformed from desktops to Laptops. In the context of the paper we intend to shed light on some of the Personal Computer models, in order to develop an effective and efficient understanding of the subject regarding the best machine to suit the needs of the subject identified in the pretext of the paper.

Macintosh

Macintosh is the name by now we mean any personal computer designed, developed, built, marketed and sold by the company Apple Inc. The Macintosh 128K was released on January 24, 1984. The products of the Mac currently stretches from basic Mac mini desktop to midrange servers and Mac Pro Mac systems are catered to home users for the purpose of achieving excellence in education and to fulfill the ever evolving needs of the consumers education and professional creativity (Swedin, 2007). This contrasts with the PC preinstalled with Microsoft Windows, where a vendor provides the operating system and multiple vendors create the hardware. In both cases, the hardware allows the operation of other operating systems: Macs are capable of supporting modern operating systems like Linux, FreeBSD and Windows.
