Emotions are vital for the survival. Emotions help us to understand our own motivations, attitudes, needs and as well as those of others. People who experience damage to the emotion centers of the brain, face difficulties not only in expressing and controlling the emotions, they also may behave impulsively, be unable to interpret the emotions of others, and may not be able to make the decisions or solving the problems effectively. (Sterelny, 2007)

Contrary to popular misconceptions, emotions do not oppose thought and reason; they assist us in understanding and managing our own lives and in relating to others. To understand whether human can sense or experience the emotions, one has neither to apply the functional approach nor the mechanist approach to the human emotions that presents a reliable and sufficient source of information about the emotions. The Darwin and Dawkins suggest the perspective of the experience of conscious emotions that may have evolved with the ability of the humans form the concepts and the usage of language. (Dennett, 2006) These emotions are also associated with the attitudes of the individuals which put the individuals in to pain due to the mental and the emotional stress.

By considering the adaptive or learning behaviors of animals in view of damage anticipation, healing capabilities and the avoidance, the studies suggest that emotions might be the core factor for the reinforcement learning and rational thinking. This issue not only concerned to the generalist functional approach which let animals and the plants to be emotional agents but also develop the emotional differences between animals and humans. The life with the controlled emotions helps an individual in having minimum problems in terms of pain and makes the life easy as there is no psychosomatic pressure on the individual.
