Introduction
Elder misuse is personal or psychological mistreatment, neglect, or economic exploitation of the elderly. Common kinds of elder misuse encompass personal misuse, psychological misuse, neglect, and economic abuse. Each kind may be intentional or unintentional. The perpetrators are generally a spouse or mature individual young children but may be other family constituents or paid or casual caregivers. Abuse generally becomes more common and critical over time (Baumhover, 2006).
