Introduction

The EFQM model has been used by numerous organizations through entire world in order to achieve the competitive advantage. When doing self Assessments using EFQM model, it helps managers to identify strengths, and opportunities for future (Norihakmat S.et,al., 2008). Organizations can achieve targeted goals by using EFQM model. All types of organizations including business and public organizations use EFQM model, in order to gain the competitive advantage. EFQM model is the most famous tool in the Europe and, more than 30000 organizations use this tool for the improvement of performances and, achievement of desired goals. 84% of the targeted population in Europe claimed that, EFQM model help to improve the performances of the organizations. This model has been reviewed numerous times to check for the future predictions and performances. This tool reflects the real world in which organizations operate (Norihakmat S.et,al., 2008). It helps organizations to reshape from the rigid structures to the agile structures which are considered as the best suited for the present worldwide economic conditions.

Discussion

My organization was not improving according to the mission and objectives and, not meeting the desired outcomes. Management has evaluated the work of EFQM and how it brings positive outcomes to our organization. I have considered how effective this model is in order to be used in my organization. EFQM Excellence model is first established by European organization, and it was based on nine criteria. The first five criteria are the enabler criteria and, the rest four are the result. The enabler criteria tends to cover several phenomenon like “what organization does, what organization should do in order to improve”, whereas; result criteria aims to focus “what organization achieves, or should achieve in order to perform better in the future.

Our organization has noticed that, excellent results should be the outcome by focusing certain customers, partnerships and values of the organization in a particular time. This model like other models is dependent on self assessments.

All the European Organizations, government, non-government, for-profit and non- profit are facing new circumstances. Technology is advancing day by day, and each day brings new ideas and revolutions and, with the advent of technology more risks are associated and, risks are engaged in certain important task, which has to be overcome in order to gain the competitive advantage. There are finite resources to meet new challenges in all over the world and, organizations aim to work together in order to overcome these challenges and, time to time new models of excellence have been invented to improve the performance of organizations. These works also help future generations to overcome the issues and, hurdles in improving performances. According to European Councin, EFQM model is the model, which provides the framework to encourage the collaboration, cooperation, and timely innovations to meet the desired goals.
