Introduction

When the United States became a nation, schools taught republican values to students. Teachers in the common schools instructed children on the meaning of being a good republican and a hard worker in the changing economy of early-nineteenth-century America. By the latter half of the century, the land grants issued by the government established many institutions of higher learning. Vocational education became very popular in these schools and colleges, a development continued well into the twentieth century. Currently, the human rights of children have been formally recognized. However, there is an undeniable fact that this ideal situation is yet to be acknowledged with respect to children and the education provided to them.

Childhood education can produce valued gains in children's training and development. According to different sources, there are several studies that have proved that lack of education in children is the root cause behind their engagement in unethical and unlawful activities. If adequate education is provided to a child, he can be freed from any discrepancies that can be caused due to educational deprivation. There are several factors that are inversely correlated with child education, the paper will focus on some of the most significant and crucial concerns; such as substance abuse, domestic violence, child hunger/poverty.

Importance of Child Education

Some theorists have argued that child education has direct and universal effects on the development of higher modes of thought, while others have suggested that it impacts on language development beyond the preschool years as a consequence of its development of conscious access to linguistic knowledge. However, the development of child education cannot easily be disengaged from its occurrence within a range of institutional and cultural settings and their related forms of child education and socialization (Wagner, Spiker, Linn, 2002, 214-234).

A major contribution of Vygotskian approaches has been the development of a theoretical bridge between individual psychological processes and the wider social context of child education. Emphasizing the collaborative activity of teachers and students in the construction of knowledge, this perspective aims to describe the formation, operation, and maintenance of communities of practice within the school setting, and the role of individual learners and teachers within them. For example, Anne Haas Dyson studied child writers' co-construction of stories in a classroom community characterized by differences in ethnicity, class, and gender and their concomitant social tensions.

Often, it is suggested that children are different because they are unfinished products. There are several factors that influence and furnish children and make them civilized and law abiding citizens of the society. Among these ingredients, education is the factor that has eminent impact on construction of child's identity. Child education is the first step of the child towards success and societal grounds. The primary objective of child education is to stimulate the development of child including furnishing of all his abilities; physical and emotional, intellectual and social. Currently, childhood education is undergoing significant changes (Mickelson, 2000, 55-67).
