The concept of intelligence

When you say a person to be intelligent? When she shows dominant culture? When she is able to argue so confusing? When she is able to solve real problems? When successful trials difficult-school? The perception of intelligence is a function of variables that differ depending on time and society within which it operates. In any case, this perception is closely related to social conformity.

In the early twentieth century, the first tests to determine an intelligence quotient (IQ) have emerged, wanting an independent objective, measure of social norms. Over the years, it was found that these measures will primarily predict the future of an individual school with a small margin of error, by the fact that these measurement systems, like our school system, give a lot of emphasis on aspects of logic, mathematics and language. The design of the intelligence that underlies this form of measurement suggests that intelligence is innate; it changes little with age, learning or experience.

This design is widely questioned today. It considers that the faculties of a person are essentially a product of culture and education: "90% of neural circuits will be formed gradually in the years after birth. It is precisely the construction of these circuits that the environment is involved in its various forms, whether the internal environment (food, hormones) or external (family and social interactions, from the world) (Gardner, H, 1993).
