Training and assessment

Q1) The VET system enables students to attain enough qualifications and specific skills for every kind of employment in order to help them in the workplace. In Australia, VET is provided through territory governments, Australian governments, network of eight states along with public, private, industry training providers who work together to offer the persistent training across Australia. Community education providers, community and adult education providers, technical and further education (TAFE) institutes and agricultural colleges along with the community organizations, private providers, industry skill centres, commercial and enterprise training providers provide the VET.

It is nationally agreed upon system for identifying the qualifications and for quality promising training providers and their registration.

This system is industry led because unions, employee and professional associations of an industry explain those results that are needed from training.

The system focuses on the guaranteeing the individual gains of knowledge and skills that are essential for their work either they are entering in a work-place for the first time, re-entering or to upgrade their skills for a new job.

The most important element is that the national standards framework for qualification (the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF), training providers (the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and training products are included in this system. These three branched structure maintains the assured quality of VET system.

Q3) RTOs deliver the accredited AQF VET qualifications and nationally recognized courses.

They apply for Australian territory and state funding in order to deliver the VET.

Training, support services and assessments related to the scope of registration are the functions of RTO along with those that are delivered offshore. When the applicants plan to collect the student's fees in advance, compliance with one of the following options should be ensured:

The RTO is administered by territory, state or commonwealth government agency.

An approved membership of Tuition Assurance Scheme must be held by the RTO.

Accepting of more than $1000 from each student before the start of the course is not allowed. Subsequent to the commencement of course, RTO may need additional fees payment in advance but only at the given time, the whole amount needed to be paid that is attributable to other services of tuitions still to be delivered to the student and should not exceed $1,500.

The alternative protection measures for fee are available to the RTO of equal rigour permitted by the National VET regulatory body.

Q5) Training packages and accredited courses

Training needs are covered in the training packages and they are also regularly monitored and reviewed in order to ensure that they are reflecting a change in industry.
