The journalist, poet, critic and romantic writer Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston on October 7, 1809, in a family of actors, although certainly an epic origin, as his paternal grandfather had been a general in the War Independence, apparently appreciated by Lafayette (Hutchisson, 2005).
