No. of trips each truck can make in a year = n = 12/2 = 6
Capacity of each truck = 50,000 tons
Cargo to transport = 15 million tons
Present capacity to transport cargo:
Total Present Capacity = 20 x 6 x 50,000 = 6 million tons.
Therefore,
Capacity to increase = 15 million - 6 million = 9 million
9 million = X x 6 x 50,000; where, X is the number of trucks
X = 9 million/300,000 = 30
Hence,
The number of trucks to be increased is 30.
The general model is,
Total Capacity = (Time taken for a round trip)(No. of trucks)(Capacity of each truck)
From the expression above it is clear that, to increase the total capacity any one among, no. of trucks, capacity of each truck and time taken for a round trip must be increased.

Figure 1: Comparison between the temperature increase and industrialization and population.
The graph above shows the realtion between industrialization and population and temperature. From the graph it is clear that the temperature of the world increases with the increase in industrialization and population of the world. This is because of the fact that the emission of CO2 is directly propotional to industrialization techniques employed today. So, when the senator said that CO2 emissions will be maintained at the same level doesn't mean that no work will have to be done. This meant that as the industrialization and population are continuously increasing, serious need of development of green technology and population control is needed and to maintain the temperature at present levels will be a big target to achieve.
