“Low aim is the crime so we should have high aims in our life”
These words of Emerson faithfully reflect how a passionate person should live his or her life. Life is not a bed of roses. It presents many challenges to us, but the winner is one who faces these challenges and proves himself as a specific individual. Life also thrown many challenges on me and I dealt with them bravely, and have decided to deal with any sort of challenges. My motto of life is to be myself and discover pearls of knowledge to awaken my spirit and to serve others.
As a student of psychology what I think I am here to help others by doing this I feel to be empathic to others needs, so that is why I have chosen this field as a career and for this purpose I am studying at Edith Cowan university of psychology, so after completing my degree, I can serve the humanity in a proper way where I can enhance my skills by helping people.
The place where one lives and born immensely affect one's decisions. Similarly, my country also affected my decisions and the choices that I made in my life. I grew up in Zambia. Zambia is a place that often faces challenges of scores of different diseases. In Zambia, various seasonal outbreaks of cholera, typhoid, malaria, pneumonia, flu and many other diseases occur. Not only these, but the rate of various other crippling and life taking diseases like HIV/AIDs and cancer are also escalating. The time that I spent in Zambia made me see and feel many nerve racking situations. After observing these things, my ambition becomes clearer that I want to become a psychologist (Gray, 2010).
At school age, I decided to be a psychologist and reach out to many suffering men and women without any biases of age, status, race, ethnicity, nationality, and background. I completed my high school in the year 2004 from High School in South Africa and Lusaka. Just after, I completed my high school, I got the job in ZCCM mining Company in their customer service department. My competencies and skills both the subject with excellence gave me competitive edge to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
