In this research we try to discover the perception of “Domestic Violence” in a holistic perspective. The key focal point of the study is on “Domestic Violence”. The study also evaluates several characteristics of “Domestic Violence” and tries to determine its outcomes. Lastly the research illustrates diverse aspects which are accountable for “Domestic Violence” and tries to describe the overall effect of it.

Types And Context Of Violence in Georgia

In Georgia, Violence against women by their current or former partners, covers the whole spectrum - from taking women's economic livelihoods to verbal and psychological abuse, physical and sexual violence and murder. Often these types of violence are interrelated and associated character.Many acts of domestic violence occur in the context of extended families living one household. As in the villages, and to a lesser extent, in cities in Georgia often live in one house three generations of one family. There are no data on domestic violence among same-sex partners are not currently available.

Many (but not all) cases of domestic violence have been reported, "Amnesty International", accompanied by alcoholism and drug abuse by the perpetrators. Obstacles To Break The Vicious Circle Of Violence

Other obstacles include: lack of proper reaction by the police, lack of training for health staff in the field of domestic violence, lack of sufficient emergency shelter, widespread impunity for perpetrators of violence, and lack of opportunities for durable solutions, including financial independence and access to adequate housing.

Comprehensive training on domestic violence has not yet become part of the regular program of police training in Georgia.
