Introduction

The purpose of this study is to expand the boundaries of our knowledge by exploring some relevant facts and figures relating to the history of southerners. In this paper, we will examine why Southerners has subscribed to certain "political schools". We will also discuss the “dogma of consolidation”, together with key ideas Pollard wanted Southerners to defend and champion. The Southerners fight for each of these ideas, during reconstruction, will also be discussed.
