Dulce Et Decorum Est

In this poem Owen exhibits the irony through brief appalling pictures of war and taking place mainly in the final stanza. The imagery used by Owen runs through the poem binding each stanza with the other, and it is through these images he was able to present the irony and moral dilemma. It is not, in fact, a "sweet and meet" destiny to breathe your last for one's nation even though his contemporaries were advertizing it as a heroic deed.
