Coca-Cola® began as a soda fountain beverage in 1886 trading for five cents a glass. Early development was outstanding, but it was only when a powerful bottling scheme evolved that Coca-Cola became the world-famous emblem it is today. In a confectionary shop in Vicksburg, Mississippi, brisk sales of the new fountain beverage called Coca-Cola influenced the store's proprietor, Joseph A. Biedenharn.
