In early 1998 Keith Maxwell, Senior Vice President for worldwide operations Dell Computer Corporation visited five different states in Brazil to decide about the site selection of Dell's new plant. After a lengthy site selection process involving five states in Brazil - São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Parana´, Minas Gerais, and Rio Grande do Sul - Dell has decided to locate the plant in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
