Since the appearance of this land mark study by Marie winn much of the things have witnessed transformation which cannot be considered positive. In the view of the author, television has no features which can be regarded as positive. The arguments by the author are repetitious, rigorous but the damning effects describes regarding family life, education and childhood are true. The work of the author is very effective as it creates an immediate negative impact on the reader making him realize in good conscience the negative effects television has on their lives.
Parents, teachers and various child advocates act as critics of television but the major points raised against television are regarding the content of the programs viewed on television and the level of violence displayed in these programs - not the impact of watching television.
