No Child Left Behind Act of 2001(NCLB) has immensely changed the way assessment and accountability is defined. NCLB aims to assist schools to progress towards achieving the milestone of 100% children in every state to meet state proficiency standards by the year 2014. NCLB breaks all categorical boundaries and intends to enable all students to excel and reach the “100%” milestone irrespective of their race/ethnicity, living standard or income level, gender, disability or English proficiency.
