According to Dickson, Den Hartog, and Mitchelson (2003), and Connerley and Pederson (2005), the study of leadership has progressively developed since the mid- 1990s. Researchers have focused on global leadership, leadership across nations, and leadership within multicultural environments and organizations. Chien (2006) argued that, “cultural differences have an effect on leadership behavior, management systems, management success and ultimately organizational performance” (p. 2).
