Critical Analysis
Introduction
The basic purpose behind the study is to review, analyze and criticize the peer reviewed scholarly article titled “domestic violence within the Irish travelling community: the challenge for social work” by Mary Allen. The paper discusses the issue of domestic violence against women by their intimate male partners in the form of physical, mental, psychological, and sexual abuse, particularly in the case of Irish ethnic minority of travellers or the people that exhibit nomadic lifestyle. Moreover, the paper also tries to analyse the role of social workers and social agencies in providing support to such women, and the difficulties that the social workers face in helping the women affected by domestic violence. In this regard the researcher interviews five of the women from the Irish travelling community that have experienced domestic violence. Moreover, the study also conducted a focus group of fifteen women from the Irish travelling community, from the age group of eighteen to fifty four, not necessarily those that experienced firsthand domestic violence. Furthermore, the study also conducted a survey analysis of the social work organization, and deployed postal surveys to ninety four of such service providers out of which the response rate was that of 33%.

Rather, despite the lacking, the title of the paper is still ...
