One of the major issues under discussion in the contemporary era is the crime control policy. There has been a lot of literature developed on the subject on the basis of many debates and discussions. This area of discussion and study also includes the common studies of the crime control operations like crime control studies, the courts, crime control reform studies, corrections and police, the investigation into the reasons of offender rehabilitation and criminal behaviors and, there have been many researches performed with the purpose to find out the relationship between the crime control knowledge and public policy. Crime has been ranked as one of the threatening concerns and many intense debates regarding the crime facts have been conducted when considering the alternative policies which are put into practice in order to tackle the crimes. This paper undertakes to study on the topic of crime control policy and analyze and evaluate the policy in terms of various dimensions. For the purpose of discussing the crime control, the subject of delinquency prevention policies will be discussed and assessed for their fundamental background and implementation.
Juvenile Crimes
United States is one of the many states across the world that experiences the youth violence at a large scale. The juvenile crimes have become the second major cause of the death for youth aged between 10 and 24. The increasing rates of youth violence have been affecting the health and structure of communities in US. It results into an increase in the health care costs, a drastic decrease in the value of property, and also leads to a severe disruption of the social services in the country (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2010). There are youth gangs that are held responsible for becoming a cause of severe violence and crimes in the United States and commit a heavy share of crimes. These gangs are active in the neighborhoods and schools, and are successful in creating a climate of harassment and fear by increasing the violence and committing criminal behavior. Thus, it has become vital to prevent the youth violence from taking place in the communities in United States and also in other parts of the world.
Violence is a concept subject to very different interpretations. In an attempt define violence in a simple and understandable, it could be argued that this is the use of force, open or concealed, in order to obtain an individual or a group, something that does not freely consent. It could also as an action direct or indirect, concentrated or distributed, intended to harm a person or group of people, or destroy either physical or psychological integrity, their possessions or their symbolic stakes. Beyond different definitions, there is some consensus in classifying the forms of violence at least three categories:
