What Extent is Crime an Inevitable Feature of the Society?

Introduction

The paper explains the extent to which crime is an inevitable feature of the society. It is a fact in today`s world which cannot be avoided and should be addressed in order to maintain the environment of the society. Crime has severe impacts on the society. In view of the researchers, crime is a social phenomenon, which includes a set of different acts of individual criminal behaviour (Ditton & Chadee, 2006, pp.505-518). However, for the crime tends to overcome these individual traits and general availability for all criminal acts evidence, the totality of which defines its concept. Criminology addresses the problem of crime in general. This study examines crime as objectively existing in society adverse effects of other social phenomena, which has its own laws requiring specific forms and methods of struggle. That is why the concept of crime is the starting position for the criminological science. As the core of the subject of criminology, the concept of crime has always defined the scope and limits of scientific inquiry in the complex criminological complex of diverse phenomena and processes of social life (Carrabine et. Al., 2004, pp.222 - 230).

The social nature of crime and social conditioning are manifested primarily in the fact that it arises from the specific acts committed by people in the community and against the interests of society, their specific social behaviour. Crime is social is because at the heart of the behaviour of each individual are not biological and social causes of social and economic laws, due to the cumulative established social relationships with their laws and contradictions. All this suggests that crime and its parameters are closely related to all aspects of social life of society, and especially the difficulties and the social conflicts that confront social progress. The patterns of crime are also its growth in a society weakened the reform of socio-economic and political relations, and its qualitative and quantitative changes in response to the needs of society (Gallipoli & Fella, 2006, pp.77 - 99).

Background

Crime is a historical volatility phenomenon which is characterized by the fact that its occurrence is related to the division of society into classes. The recognition of historical implications of crime can with certainty say that since its introduction in the society, it is constantly changing. This applies equally to the criminological characteristics of crime in different socio-economic formations, and on the individual stages of history. The crime is usually considered in two main ways: as an act of human behaviour and a criminal act. From a legal point of view, this approach eliminates the need for a special concept of crime (Gallipoli & Fella, 2006, pp.77 - 99).
