The concept of white collar crime has been deeply rooted in the vocabulary of laymen and scholars, which is used to denote a type of crime that has a number of fundamental differences with respect to street crime. While the latter is typically carried out addressing the victims physically or entering their homes or businesses illegally, most white-collar crimes committed through the use of malice, deceit or misrepresentation, to create and exploit the appearance of a legitimate transaction in order to obtain an unlawful benefit.
