Cost of the War

Introduction

According to the survey, approximately $656.1 billion dollars have been allocated to any war. The national, state, and local numbers we provide are based on the full amount of funding approved to date for Fiscal Year 2009. Total War has been described as a war that "is drawn with any political, social, economic and cultural spheres of the national state (Bilmes and Stiglitz pp 25)." The first major example of this is the First World War. It is obvious that this war has changed society and the wider implications for the people directly involved in the war. However, the extent to which it has divided society is an interesting topic of argument. While the Government will look to defend a policy of national integration in order to increase their resources in such a war of attrition, there are also examples of how social boundaries are extenuated (Bilmes and Stiglitz pp 25). This is, in terms of social status and gender.

Discussion

In examining the impact of war on social division, it is important to take into account the extent to which war is not only a complex of social classes, as well as the status of women in society. Before the war there have always been significant political and social differences between the sexes. Women in the main role were seen as the care of the house, several women in large public or commercial position. This view extenuated the fact that women have no voice (Katel 361-384). However, these views had to be changed after the First World War. Because the country's resources were stretched to the limit, the women will play an important role in highlighting the lack of able-bodied men away at the Western Front. This led to women taking positions in a number of industries, including munitions, and in agriculture. Women also benefited from the dilution effect, and many have moved to a more skilled labor.

It is evident from studies in the UK, during and after the First World War, total war as a social division, and national integration. It would also appear that any separation or integration has suffered a direct war. There are often other factors to consider such as the degree to which the division already existed prior to the First World War, and the extent to which he was stimulated by the war (Katel 361-384).

In many respects, the social division in Germany reflects the changes that have occurred in England at that time, such as disruptions in the economy and a shift in the industrial base in the country.
