Coral Eugene Watts, who was born on November 7, 1953 and died on September 21, 2007, also known as Coral by his nickname, was an American serial killer. Coral Eugene Watts is amongst the few black serial killers in history. He was born in Killeen, Texas. He was the son of Richard Eugene Watts, who was a private class army and Dorothy Mae Young, an art teacher in school gardens. A year later, Watts had a daughter named Sharon, but their marriage ended in 1955 when his parents divorced, after separation Coral went to live with his mother in Inkster, Michigan. However made regular visits to their relatives and spent days in the cottage of her grandmother who called Coral, this time the child liked to chase and skinning rabbits. In the year 1962, Dorothy married a man, who was mechanic by his profession, named Norman Caesar and they had two daughters. When he was eight had meningitis and the attending physician said he could have suffered fevers caused a small brain damage (Nider, 2005).
Following the illness, Watts began to have nightmares and sleep problems. When he was 15 he attacked a woman. It denounced him, and the killer was subjected to psychiatric treatment. He said he dreamed that he was being attacked and demonized women when he could kill them (in their dreams) he felt better. He worked as a bus mechanic and an oil company. He had a son with a girlfriend and was six months married to another woman. His ex-wife confirmed that the killer had multiple nightmares and described him as an eccentric man who cut plants and disappear for four or five hours each time ended up having sex (Bars, 2001). Watts used to roam around the city by car looking for his next prey. Multiple systems used to kill his victims were drowned, strangled, stabbed, choked or hanged. When he signed the plea agreement said he was not going to confess all his crimes because he would not go down in history as a mass killer.
Discussion
During the beginning of the seventies, women in the states of Texas, Michigan, and Ontario, Canada lived terrified by the "murderer of Sunday morning." Few serial murderers who are African American race and no doubt find Watts was one of the most cruel about 90 murders, Coral Watts began to kill women for the pleasure and joy that made her look like died. It was a sadistic murderer: he stabbed, hanged, strangled and drowned women. They did not know each other and had never seen before. A survivor said later that the killer was so fond of killing it "cheered and danced" while doing so. The police found it hard to find and apprehend the person responsible for a large black man by the name of Coral Eugene Watts (Scott, 2003).
