Introduction

There are four functions of management, which allows any organization to handle the tactical, to be set and decisions. The four core functions of management are planning, organizing, leading and control. These four basic functions of management plan to be controlled on preventive measures. The functions of management define the governance process, as different from the accounting, finance, marketing and other business functions. These features provide a useful way of classifying information on the administration. In this paper, as CEO of the Internet Company XYZ, we are developing a policy manual for a new manager hired.

Management Functions

Management and its functions are a key element of any business in one form or another. There are several levels of government and the various roles and responsibilities associated with each of them (HillBehn, 2003). The new manager of XYZ Internet Company should fulfill the following tasks.

Planning

The basic function of managers is to plan, which is the foundation of governance. It is the foundation on which all spheres of government should be structured. The process begins with scanning the environment, which essentially means that planners must be aware of the serious contingency to their organization in terms of economic conditions, their competitors and their customers. Planners should try to predict the future (Bateman & Snell, 2004).

Management

The second function of management is becoming an organized and prepared. Organizing an internal organizational structure of the organization. The focus on division, coordination and control tasks and information flows within the organization. Organizing also involves the development of individual jobs within the organization. The decision must be made about the roles and responsibilities of individual jobs, as well as the manner in which responsibilities should be fulfilled (Fisher & Fisher, 2004). Organizing at the level of the organization involves deciding how best to departmentalize or cluster of jobs in the departments to effectively coordinate the efforts. There are many different ways departmentalize, including organization by function, product, geography, or customer. Organizational-level jobs due to better design individual jobs, to make the best use of human resources (Sims, 2002).

Leading

Lead is a third function of government. While working on this feature helps to manage the control and supervision over the actions of employees. Leading includes other, affecting the realization of organizational goals. Effective lead manager is required to motivate staff, communicate effectively and efficiently use power.
