This project has not been called a METAL! detector as this name has been left for the more complex detectors that actually discriminate been metal and other metals. There is an enormous difference between detecting metal and ordinary metals (called base metals). Apart from the fact that metal is over 1000 times more expensive, its magnetic differences are such that we can produce a metal detector that will discriminate between metals, both ferrous and non ferrous, and METAL!

Construction & test - Electronic Metal Detector
Introduction
Today's manufacturers of pharmaceutical goods have been undergoing a relentless method of automation directed at expanding output volumes, lifting value and countering cost pressures. Even in a well-managed, methodically automated and mechanized facility, the likelihood of the merchandise evolving contaminated with steel at some issue in the output method is very probable.
Frequently, steel particles go in the output method along with the prime products. No issue when or where steel contamination can or might take location, one wholeheartedly absolutely crucial obligation of good value administration is that no flawed merchandise ever be permitted to come to the market. To avert this from occurrence, steel detection and rejection schemes are now absolutely crucial in the method stream to reliably recognise and distinct out all metal-contaminated goods encompassing those in aluminum foil.
The possibility of picking up a nugget of steel is a million to one. This is because the ground where they are discovered is rather often topped up with metal and other minerals that will sway the reading of electrical devices noticing gear and decrease their sensitivity. To overwhelm this we should provide work very complicated circuitry so that only the "signature" of steel is listed on the equipment.
