Congress and MLB

Introduction

Why keep Congress involved in sport? No need for the Congressional hearing on whether an athlete is taking steroids or human growth hormone. Nor should Congress engage in deception, as "Spy gate" scandal (Salzman 2. People are not big fans of Roger Clemens or any other person who has taken or take steroids or growth hormones, but Congress has been too involved and pushed issue way too far. What these athletes have not been banned by sport at the time. Yes, it was and remains illegal by law, so it must be the legal issue, not an issue for the congressional hearing. Just when things start dying from steroids in baseball, Congress decided that he would release Mitchell Report, therefore embarrass Major League Baseball and other players. Mitchell Report, was the big press conference in New York, and for what? To give name of Roger Clemens in public and the lot of minor players. I think MLB has implemented the strong policy on steroids. As for records to be broken, which must remain intact with no asterisk? I do not like Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa, and Roger Clemens, but all who used drugs were legal by MLB at that time (Rawlings 1). As the fan, sorry to say this, but in the way steroids saved baseball. After 1994 players' strike, fans began to leave game. What brought you back? Two players who are high on list of steroids, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa. This may sound like I'm in favor of steroids, but I'm not, but the person cannot look over facts that steroids had the positive effect on baseball. Fraud scandals, first I would like to say I do not think New England Patriots fooled everyone. Stealing signs is part of all sports, just because it uses the video camera does not cheat. I hope not (Miah 366). Now that NFL has decided that Patriots were cheating, all Pats should have to do is face sentences of NFL. There is no need for Congress to engage in an issue like this. NFL gave out punishment which it considers necessary and should be final. Congress, on the power trip, decided that they want to get involved in sport once again. Did not have anything better to do? What happened to Congress dealing with political issues? In no way is something that happens in sport the political issue. As I said before, I am against steroid use in sports, but I must admit that steroids saved Major League Baseball. Also, do not feel that there is widespread cheating in sport. Many people are going to oppose this issue, but the lot of things considered cheating is just part of game. Congress involved ...
