CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW
There have been conducted various studies in the past that takes into account information about the Mobile Telecommunication Industry. The telecommunication industry has a competitive advantage as it is considered to be one of the most emerging industries in the world. The industry of the Mobile Telecommunication has competitive environment. The industry of telecommunication is in the position that is constantly competing through its diverse products and services. These services include the new emerging products, new service bundles and other products. The rate of entrance of new competitors is very high in this particular industry. In order to remain competitive within the industry, the companies are constantly innovating new products and services. The research study will mainly discuss different factors relating to the competitive advantage. There will taken into account different theories regarding the competitive advantage and factors that affect the telecommunication industry (Nelson & Todd, 2005, Pp. 199).
The analyst Jobber (2004) has proposed different advantages that are associated with the competitive advantage. These advantages help the company to achieve significant position in the telecommunication industry. These include:
By providing improved services and higher quality, the companies can become better.
By anticipating the needs of the customers and responding them appropriately will help them in achieving significant position.
By improving the relationship with the customers in order to have closeness.
According to Jobber (2004), it is important for the companies to achieve the competitive advantage. However, there are many other factors that can help in achieving the competitive advantage within the companies. In order to achieve the competitive advantage, the companies should reduce the rate of relative cost to the minimum so that they can compete with their competitors.
There is available, significant literature in the area of the competitive advantage as there have been conducted many researches in the past that provide sources of how to gain competitive advantage (Jobber, 2004).
