Dorothea Lange is the name in the field of camerawork who is considered a photographer in a truest sense. She is a natural photographer, born in the year 1895, in Hoboken, New Jersey. Her life was marked by two events that become the reasons for most of the activities she carried out in the rest of her life. At the age of 7, she was attacked by a disease of polio because of which she lost one of her leg. She faced considerable hurdles from all the people even her family, as everyone was ashamed of the crippled girl. The second event was that at the age of 12, her father walked out on the family. Lange was shifted to her maternal grandmother and on the way to meet her mother, she stared at the objects, and discovered a treasure of beautiful objects and that was the time she thought to become a photographer. Artists are controlled by the life that beats in them, like the ocean beats on the shore. (Susannah, 2005). Her life work as a photographer was begun by her first job in the office of famous portrait photographer, Arnold Genthe. The work of Lange is very popular in every part of America. The popular works that makes her remarkable include, Japanese boy awaiting evacuation, June 1942; Mother's Day Daisies, and Migrant Mother.
