Introduction

This academic paper on critical reflection on a communication event can help me to explore the importance of good communication in social working and human services through different scientific theories. The critical reflection is an effective way to discover the positives and negatives of anything. The paper will also discuss the ethical and psychological effects a communication can made on the participants. Reflection is actually a form of evaluation that is done on the basis of past theories, knowledge and experience. The basic principle of any communication must be to influence the environment in which we live.

In order to influence the audience, the message must have fidelity that can be understood so that the issuer is able achieve its objective. An individuals' self perception rules his or her interaction with the world. People's behaviour with each other highly relies on their emotional states and self concept (Hinds, 1995). There have been numerous researchers in this world who have place great emphasis on the significance of communication in different aspects of lives. The most precious and valuable aspect of an individuals' life is his/her communication skills. Therefore, it is highly imperative that the individuals must successfully and effectively employ communication for their healthy and sound interpersonal relationships.

Organisational Communication

Communication is important in every walk of life. However, a good communication at business level can produce fruitful results for an organisation. In this paper, I will be providing reflection and analysis regarding business communication. Business communication refers to interpersonal relations between employees, communication channels (internal newsletter, phone, e-mail), transmission work instructions, etc. Various researches have been undertaken to closely examine human behaviour related to communication and interpersonal skills. These researches helped to a great extent in understanding the work place communication psychology which later was found prolific in improving Business Communication.

Role of Manager in an Organisation

Manager has a crucial role in organizational goals. He is responsible for reconciling individual goals with organizational objectives. It is very important for long-term success of organizations (Dopson, 1992). He must ensure that effective communication flow within the organization and that no misunderstandings instead. Manager has a central role in the decision making of an organization. He must decide how to make and communicate organizational changes. He must be in close contact with employees in the organization. He must understand and motivate them. He should praise his employees when they show either a brilliant performance or a low performance.

They must get constructive feedback rather than negative feedback. He must provide them on-line support and help. Manager must resolve conflicts between workers and trying to reach an acceptable solution. This will improve the quality and performance of staff (Connell, 1999,).
