Research Question

The purpose of this paper is to examine accessibility of websites for colour blind people.

CHAPTER 4: RESULTS AND ANALYSIS

The purpose of this research is to deduce the accessibility issues associated with colour blind people while the access websites. The results from this study could aid in enhancing the interaction practices between telecommuter employees and their organization as well as fulfil the purpose of deepening telecommuter awareness and association to organizational culture. The data for this study will be collected by way of utilizing the primary research methods. Primary research is a good way of gathering information directly from the concerned people whose views, opinions and perception would aid in the research being conducted.

The results in the table below shows frequency responses for the first question, which is about the education level of the respondents with disability of colour blindness.

It can be observed that 70% of the respondents were undergraduate students while no one has taken a PhD. degree, only 30% of the respondents that have taken part in the survey were full time employed.

The respondents have been categorized into two different age groups, 50% of them were aged below 25 while the other 50% were above 25 years of age.

Altogether, there were 10 respondents that have participated in the study 3 of them were males while remaining 7 were females. Visual impairments are the most obvious, but the blind are not the only beneficiaries of more attention: the visually impaired and colour blind also form a significant portion (or even increasing with the aging population) customers. Combining various possible visual impairment then we can realize that those who have perfect vision do not form such a large majority - and yet it is too often to them that the sites are built.

Choosing the right colour combinations can easily make a better readability, and therefore more accessible, the visually impaired. Among the visually impaired are people with colour blindness, that is to say a flawed interpretation of colours. The results revealed from this survey have proven the fact that web accessibility is important for every, it has become a necessity of life even for the people with visual impurities and colour blindness.

The results show that 80% of the respondents use internet daily, while remaining use this facility in alternate days. The web sites should be designed so that the disabled person has no problems with access to the site. Today, a web developer, make sure the website is designed for the person with disabilities have no access to the subject. There are many types of disabilities that can affect the development of the websites and can also affect its accessibilities. Disability has different meanings around the world. Here are some types of disabilities that affect the development of web and its accessibility. It includes colour blindness, low vision, blindness, hearing impairment, speech disabilities, and many others.
