The Contributions of Clessie Lyle Cummins in the Fields of Mechanics and Technology
Abstract
Clessie Lyle Cummins is the inventor of diesel engine. His invention has set the pillar for a new field of study, which is called mechanics. Despite belonging to a middle class family he has not only developed the engine but showed to the world that success can also be achieved without resources. He has participated in different races to display the power of his diesel engines. Apart from this, he has also upgraded the quality of his engines continuously. The biggest hindrance in his way was the great Depression of 1930's due to which the purchasing power of people declined. However, despite of several hindrances, he didn't give up and constantly introduced more advanced fuel efficient engines. As a result, he was able to generate huge sales in an era when the great depression has affected the economic prosperity of everyone.

The Contributions of Clessie Lyle Cummins in the Fields of Mechanics and Technology
Introduction
Clessie Cummins is the father of invention. He was an ordinary man with an extraordinary mind. His small idea of producing diesel engine for his father's farm not only helped him, but the whole humanity. He is a mastermind, who showed to the world that how a person can succeed without resources. Mr. Irwin, who was his boss initially, helped him on his way to success. However, the contributions of Cummins in the field of mechanical engineering will always be remembered.
Early Life
Clessie Lyle Cummins (1888-1968), who is also the hero of the automobile industry, was born in Dec, 1988 in a small village of Indiana. Since he belonged to the family which had farming background, therefore, he faced several hardships during the early days of his life. Farming was not an attractive profession at that time because of weather uncertainties, floods, low-prices and a lot of hard work. To make things work, farming was done manually as tractors and trucks were not invented.
Education
His didn't get good schooling. The rural school in which he was enrolled primarily focused on getting students who can do manual farm work. Therefore, he didn't continue school after completing his eighth grade. Although he didn't get formal education, but, his vision and his expertise were tremendous.
On the other hand, mechanical things attracted Cummins. The functioning of different technical things inspired him the most. Due to his extreme interest in mechanics, he was able to learn the new techniques of different things and was able to assemble and improve the products in his early age.
