Introduction

In order for our country to get to the point it is at right now, many wars have been fought and many great sacrifices have been made. The Civil war may be the most important event in the history of the United States. The war abolished slavery and reunited the country. The war brought the ideals of liberty, equality, human dignity, and justice, to reality. Without the Civil War, our country wouldn't be the way it is right now.(Stonewall, 1993)
