Introduction

The information audit represents an essential component of the audit. Through it there is an evaluation for an information system achieves its goal for which it was adopted. From this point of view, there exist standards, in organizational culture which define clearly the domain, activities, levels and content of the audit and the finalization forms. By complying with the requirements of standards, the result of the information audit process is unbound from contesting risks. The competitive intelligence of information audit represents an ample domain which includes all auditing activities for: specifications, projects, and software, and data basis, processes specific to the life-cycles of a program, of an information application, of an information system for the management and of a portal of maximum complexity, associated to a virtual organization Waters, 2002, 23-36).

Information Audit Issues for Cisco

The place of information audit is within the internal audit objectives. The ones who support this point of view limit audit activities of information systems to informatics components of financial accounting subsystem and to activities specific to internal control. This current backs away from the specific objectives which the information audit of information systems must achieve. Another current defines the information audit activity as a complex activity, which has many specific objectives beside the internal audit objectives. Therefore, among the Cisco information systems audit there may be enumerated: the ones related to information systems and data security, information systems safety, probity of the correct implementation of processing algorithms, control procedures of changes made to information programs, responsibilities on administration of a and different persons' roles within the integrated information system (Wallemacq, 1998, 593-612).

Structure of information audit

The information audit (software) consists of activities by which there comes into prominence correspondence degree between specificities and the elaborated program in Cisco. Software audit gives Cisco the measure of certainty the programs user must have when obtaining results. The certainty refers to final results' correctness and completeness when entrance data are also correct and integral (Virilio, 2002, 214-215).

For the requirements and manner of Cisco information audit, there must be clarified preliminarily previous aspects regarding regulation, respectively place and role of information audit within the organization and the other types of audit (internal, financial, etc.). It is true the fact that the information audit general objectives overlap with other types of audit objectives, and the specific objectives which play an important role within information audit, are related to technical characteristics of information systems and requires specialists in informatics which can perform this type of audit. Cisco drew away from the things stated before, we risk to perform and implement something else than what specialists defined as information audit, respectively by information systems audit (Virilio, 2000, 99-118).

Training Specialists and Certifying Competences

The practical aptitudes of specialists who aim to accede towards the information systems audit activity is certified according to practices in different fields by certificates of competence. Unfortunately, we must admit that in Cisco a problem which was stressful for ISACA® is almost unapproachable ...
