Humans rely on their circulatory system to provide important things like oxygen & different nutrients to our blood cells, & to help the body eliminate carbon dioxide from the body. This important composite consists of things like heart, blood vessels, and blood. It is very important to understand the basics of our circulatory system to learn how it helps us in the inflammatory response. (Starr & McMillan 2008, Pp.30)
Our heart is made up of muscles, and works as a pump in our body, which supplies blood. It consist of four parts, which are called chambers, these chambers are, right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium, and left ventricle. In between the chambers, there are 4 valves which separate these 4 four chambers, and help the blood flow in the correct direction. (Oleksy 2001, Pp.05) The right side of our heart takes blood, which does not have oxygen, and provides it to our lungs. The left side of the heart then receives the blood from the lungs, which has filled with oxygen & forwards it to our body. (Jakab 2007, Pp.12) Blood is a generic name for the things that carry nutrients, oxygen, and other things in our body. Blood is mainly composed of red blood cells, which consume haemoglobin to provide oxygen to our blood cells. Blood also consist of white blood cells, which are to protect us from any potential diseases and make our immune system. Lymphocytes B & T are a part of our blood & take care of our immunity system. The platelets are responsible for closing wounds, & the plasmas consist of proteins, which are working to maintain a steady level of blood. (Thornborough 1995, Pp.41)
