Summary

The Brothers Grimm's story Cinderella is a very rich and thought provoking work. The story was written in 1812, in German, using little of the archaic dialog thanks to the translation by Margaret Hunt and James Stern. The work is full of powerful imagery such as “in the evening when she had worked till she was weary she had no bed to go to, but had to sleep by the hearth in the cinders” explaining how she got her name.
